【Summary】The Jiangsu Provincial Comprehensive Law Enforcement and Supervision Bureau of Transportation, in conjunction with the Jiangsu Maritime Safety Bureau, has launched a joint inspection on sand and gravel docks, sea related shipping enterprises, and local regulatory authorities in Taizhou, Yangzhou, and Changzhou to carry out a special rectification and inspection of illegal inland vessels engaged in maritime transportation.

Yangzi Evening News (Correspondent Su Jiao Law Enforcement Reporter Da Yue) In mid April, the Jiangsu Provincial Transportation Comprehensive Law Enforcement Supervision Bureau, in conjunction with the Jiangsu Maritime Safety Bureau, launched a joint inspection of sand and gravel docks, sea related shipping enterprises, and local regulatory departments in Taizhou, Yangzhou, and Changzhou to carry out a special rectification of illegal maritime transportation by inland vessels.
The joint inspection team conducted on-site visits to a port company in Taizhou, a logistics limited company in Yangzhou, a port logistics limited company in Changzhou, and a shipping limited company in Changzhou, focusing on inspecting the on-site operations of the dock, sand and gravel control, and key ship management of the enterprise. A special symposium was held to listen to the opinions of all parties, and a total of three safety risks and deficiencies were identified on site. Relevant responsible units were instructed to rectify and manage according to regulations.
According to incomplete statistics, in order to crack down on illegal activities of inland vessels engaged in maritime transportation, the Changzhou traffic law enforcement department alone has distributed over 2600 sea related promotional leaflets, and has successively introduced strict disciplinary measures such as "credit blackmail, suspension of ship inspections, and heavier punishment", with significant results. In terms of the overall situation of the inspection, after three years of continuous high-pressure rectification, the illegal maritime transportation behavior of Jiangsu inland ships has been effectively reduced, with a decrease rate of 90% in the number of ships involved in the sea. The special governance work for illegal maritime transportation in the province has achieved significant results.
